Year 9 Commerce Excursion Questions

Find each store and take a photo of one of the members of your group as evidence that you completed the task:


  1. Find a clothing store that has Japanese in its name or brand
  2. Find the big fig tree. Find a food store that uses Spanish in its name.
  3. Once you have answered question 2 turn west. What is the name of the store with Chinese in its name?
  4. What language is the word “Luneburger” from? What does this shop sell?
  5. Find two stores that have French names.
  6. Find two massage businesses that use Chinese in their name.
  7. This store sells mobile phone accessories. Shame they can't spell the word “phone.”
  8. List 4 examples of businesses that have been creative with their spelling (incorrectly spelt words).
  9. The name of this store is a thing that you dig up out of the ground, but it's not sold here.
  10. This store does not actually sell the product in its name. Things could get sticky...
  11. Very poor use of grammar, this store is located on the rooftop.
  12. Find 2 stores that have “co.” In their name. What does this stand for?
  13. Find the coffee shop that sells coffee sourced from The Grounds of Alexandria. The other coffee shops must be green with envy.
  14. Find three stores that have that have this highly prized precious metal in their name.
  15. This shop sells fruity beverages. You know exactly what it sells- it's all in the name.
  16. Find the store for which Justin Bieber endorses product.
  17. Find the store for which Miranda Kerr endorses product.
  18. Find the store for which Jennifer Hawkins endorses product.
  19. Find the store or product that George Clooney endorses.
  20. My brand ambassador is Aboriginal. What is the name of the person and the brand?
  21. Do your work. Just do it. (Brand slogan clue).
  22. Identify five (5) various selling techniques e.g. buy 2 get 1 half price, memberships, 20% off   etc. Take a photo of these.
  23. Identify the most enticing shop fronts. Take a photo of your top three (3)
  24. Identify promotion techniques. Take a photo or collect evidence on how retailers are promoting their businesses. This is usually achieved via advertising, giveaways, samples, spruiking etc. Evidence 5 methods via photos.
